MONTFORT SCHOOL FOR THE DISABLED, BELAGOLA

Montfort school for the disabled is located at Belagola village in Mandya District of Karnataka State.  The process of starting the school was initiated by Rev. Bro. Thomas Mavelil (late) early in 1999,The School had a humble beginning in June 1999 with 10 hearing impaired children along with a few other handicapped ones, under the leadership of Rev. Bro. Devasy Madavana, a veteran in the education for the deaf. As of now, we have classes from 1st Std. to 10Std. The school is blessed with fully qualified staff specially trained to teach the hearing impaired.  As on date, we have 139 hearing impaired students, both boys and girls, from different parts of the State, who pursue their High School studies in Kannada medium, State Board syllabus. The School has been securing Cent percent results for the last five years under the guidance of fully trained and qualified teachers. The students are State level Champions and representatives for the State and National level games of the deaf. The School is a residential School, with the boys staying in the School campus and the girls in a different campus under the care of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi.
